This year, AIESEC LSE’s Outgoing Exchange (OGX) team will be organising an overseas exchange programme to Poland. All students (undergraduates and postgraduates) are cordially invited to participate in this exchange project, which will last for approximately 8 weeks during the summer (July 2008). Key benefits of participating in this project:

  • Tremendous exposure to another culture and society
  • Brilliant opportunity to interact with other students through the exchange of ideas and methods
  • Excellent networking platform to establish new professional and personal contacts internationally
  • Exciting new working environment, providing you with a thorough understanding of foreign corporate and organisational practices

Examples of organisations that you will be working with:

  1. MONAR: An NGO that helps HIV/AIDS patients
  2. While at the MONAR center, you will be able to gather information and knowledge about the MONAR Association, and meet with therapists in order to acquire practical knowledge. You will also be expected to organise English lessons and give presentations about the social issues in your home country.

You will have the chance to learn how Polish NGOs go about analysing and solving social problems, provide medical help to the addicted, and learn about the healing process.

For more information about MONAR, please visit their official website: http://www.monar.org/englishabout.html

  3. Culture Train: An educational NGO that works with youth
  4. The internship will be in bilingual kindergartens and culture centres in Warsaw. Interns will deliver an educational programme concerning their culture, by participating in performances, organising workshops, and teaching in dance and vocal classes. The specific details of the programme depend on the needs and expectations of the students, as well as their educational path.

We have elected to organise this project in Poland as it is one of the fastest growing economies in Europe. With new private enterprises accounting for more than 70% of Poland’s GDP, Poland has proven itself to be a marvelous platform for developmental and entrepreneurial projects.

Interested project participants should attend our information session on 21st February 2008 from 3-4pm at U110 for further details on the application process. If you have any queries, please do not hesitate to contact us at projectpolska@googlemail.com.
